Founder’s Profile and School Vision

The school is built on the belief that quality education should develop responsible, disciplined citizens and be accessible to rural families.

Mr. Boddu Venkata Subbaiah

Mr. Boddu Venkata Subbaiah, founder of B.V. Subbaiah High School, Pernamitta, was born on 22 February 1920 in Chandrapalem Village, Santhanuthalapadu Mandal, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh.

He completed primary education in his native village and studied further at Santhanuthalapadu, Pedanandipadu, and Ongole. He later completed Intermediate education from A.C. College, Guntur.

After his studies, he served in the Madras Army for about one year and then worked as a teacher at Zilla Board High School, Udayagiri. Inspired by socialist ideals and social upliftment, he worked as a full-time Communist Party of India worker from 1952 to 1957.

Institution History

From 1957 to 1963, Mr. Subbaiah served as a teacher in several private educational institutions. Dissatisfied with prevailing educational practices, he resolved to establish an institution rooted in social responsibility and quality education.

In 1963, he founded Children Science School in Ongole. To make education more accessible and affordable for rural students, the school was shifted to Pernamitta Village in 1974. In 1987, the institution was renamed B.V. Subbaiah High School.

English Medium instruction was introduced from Classes V to X in 2005 to meet changing educational needs.
